Management Monday

Hello all, sorry for the late post. I am recovering from having several accounts hacked including: Facebook, linked in, and even my email account. Much like other folks who have been hacked or even hospitals I received the dreaded ransom email. Hackers today are very difficult to locate and identify they are experts at stealing your information. So that being said every facility has their own security protocol for the IT system that they use. As hackers get even better: how often are you changing your passwords? I realize that many of us only do so when they say we will be locked out of our account. Safety among your healthcare systems will continue to get more and more challenging how are you encouraging your staff to stay alert, not surf, and of course change their password to something difficult such as different characters, numbers and of course not using the same one over time? We have hear in the past year multiple healthcare facilities, insurance companies and others who have been hacked, what is your facility doing to safe guard patient information, sensitive emails, or even payroll information?
Please share your thoughts as it will continue to be an issue that more of us will become aware of!
I leave you with this quote to ponder:
"Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom"
Aristotle.
Have an awesome week

So sorry for you troubles... It is so difficult to manage all of the passwords!! Our security protocol is sooooo intense and frustrating... but recognize its importance as well. The ISD team just doesn't seem to have the same urgency some times that we do...or maybe it is that I just don't have patience!! LOL We have the phishing test emails that come periodically as well.
